Yeah very good. I often experienced a strong sense of ramped up anxiety and agitation whenever I practiced the held-breath exercises that come w more advanced trulkhors

You familiar w the Taoist dissolving exercises? Breath never held but a systematic release of blockages, soft tissue, energy downward in the body as a preliminary to really being able to engage any of the internal martial arts and as a part of Taoist meditation.

I always thought that Vajrasattva practice was a much less practical way towards the same thing - opening all the downward flows, grounding energy, releasing deeply held tensions. Maybe w stronger devotion the practice would do all those things.

Different emphasis. Energy is treated more implicitly, awareness more explicitly via symbolic engagement.
