As says, "hope is a discipline." So too is where we place our hope. Elections won't bring us closer to the world we're fighting for, so long as the US is an empire run by capitalism & exists on stolen land. Sharing a discipline of hope I practice to stay grounded:

  5. Um big institutions have hella $ & drop major funds for racist white men all the time. Before I had an agent once I asked to be paid the same as the highest paid white speaker they funded when they said my rate was too high. They then paid me more than my asking rate 💅🏼

The abolitionists of the 1800s lost a big audience when they said the institution of chattel slavery couldn't be redeemed. Slave owners--many rich and powerful--felt alienated by the statement. It was polarizing. In fact, it led to war.

The sheer amount of violence cops commit & the money we spend on them is mindblowing. Cops harass, arrest, beat, & sexually assault people regularly. We pay them to do it & protect their violence in courts. Here is some coverage from this week. This is just what made the news.

Politicians are such a bunch of grifters. People are dying, can’t afford housing or food, and they’re asking us to donate so the ruling class can transfer power between each other?

Looking forward to joining and today. This discussion is especially pertinent given Sec. Pompeo’s visit to the region, the flurry of announcements made to legitimise war crimes, and the PA’s decision to return to its undignified positions.

hey you didn't even ask your users if they consented to be tracked, and the geolocation is not actually anonymous. Your users' information was available to ICE, Customs and Border Patrol, the IRS, the Secret Service and the U.S. military.

Screenshot of the Vice article that says, "X-Mode clarified in an email to Motherboard that its partner apps are contractually obligated to follow relevant data protection laws and obtain consent, rather than there being a technical mechanism in place that stops collection without informed consent."
Screenshot of the Vice article that says, "The Locate X data itself is anonymized, but the source said "we could absolutely deanonymize a person." Babel Street employees would "play with it, to be honest," the former employee added."
