  7. We were a few hundred ppl who came around the campus (near Jordan) in support and to try save them, but were dispersed by numerous rounds of tear gas. The police refused to talk with the 12 legislators and pastor who came on site. They are ruthless.

Chinese soldiers claimed they cleared roadblocks "voluntarily". Clearly, it's not true, as PLA is under the command of Central Military Commission, of which Chairman is President Xi. And Xi stresses "Party commands army". So it's impossible for PLA to act "voluntarily".

For a later day, the fact that China is leaking documents spells big trouble. China seldom, if ever, play the leaking to the media game. They don’t know how to. That they’re doing so now is to be noted.

  16. This is a chilling image....just because they are not in uniforms does not change the fact that they are the Chinese troops, jogging in the streets of Hong Kong. This is the first step, people.

  17. HK gov later released a statement claiming they have not requested for the army’s help, which is even more worrying, as they seemingly have no knowledge or simply don’t care what is stated in the Basic Law. Next thing we know, they will be “volunteering” to shoot the protesters.

  18. Chinese troops appeared on streets of today, claiming to be “volunteering” to clear up streets. They are violating and ignoringthe Basic Law, as it is clearly stated that the PLA has no rights to provide service unless requested by the HK government. This is VERY alarming.

The escalating violence in is extremely concerning and the premeditated attack on university campuses, where over 1k rounds of teargas were used, raises disturbing questions as to whether the govt’s strategy is to create more chaos & new protests. 1/5
