bucth and femme are related to queer identity, some bi and other queer women use it as labels as well as some gay/bi/queer men. it is not lesbian exclusive!
-
i don't like getting into that discourse, but that's not what i'm talking about anyways. i'm talking about when ppl say things like "i can't decide whether to dress butch or femme today".

I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused, so what does butch/femme mean? I thought butch meant masculine presenting lesbians and etc? Sorry dhdhd
-
hi! lesbians can present masc without identifying as butch. butch/femme are identities, not aesthetics. so lesbians can be feminine, but not every feminine lesbian is a femme the same way lesbians can b masculine, but not every masculine lesbian is a butch.

god thank you so much !! my identity as butch is a huge part of both my sexuality and my gender, and it kinda hurts to see queer people, especially other lesbians, reduce this huge part of me to just them wearing a button down or them having short hair :/
-
i completely understand. it sucks to have people boil us down to our looks when there is such a beautiful history/culture behind these labels. i'm sorry that happens!! we just havta spread awareness n hopefully one day it'll get better!!
