It seemed to me like you two never really joined issue. He's concerned about the Maoist restrictions of far-out CoC's, you seemed to be asserting that moderately-drafted CoC's could be to the good & hadn't materialized in bad consequences for projects like Rust. Not inconsistent.

maybe, but I consider the above quoted tweet to be strong evidence that his 'concerns' are really just a smokescreen for much further right beliefs

but yeah, nothing inconsistent assuming he was replying in good faith. I'm not sure I can justify that assumption, though

I'm reading it as 'this act by the Nazis makes me like them more', which I can't really see any reasonable way to defend

The joke works by positing destroying X and Y (normal things) could make you like something indefensible (Nazis), thus conveying hyperbolically that you really hate X and Y. The joke only works if Nazis are indefensible.

Wut? The first sentence follows a joke pattern, as in, "what's that you say? X? [funny/surprising observation about X.]" It reads like standard-fare edgelord humor to me.

maybe, but a lot of standard edgelord humor is, if not fascist, very much fascist-adjacent

Maybe we should ban it.

obviously the only two options are that or banning people from making assumptions based on people joking about how they approve of actions taken by nazis as a precursor to genocide
