It’s not a strawman—just do the math on what % of humanity is one or more of {racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, …}, bearing in mind that failing to toe the progressive party line on even one category makes you a “bigot.”

(I don't think "Nazi sympathy" is either a fair or a charitable way to characterize that tweet The joke relies on his Dislike of Nazis)
-
it literally states that an action taken by nazis (one that was a precursor to genocide, too, not something meaningless in this context like instituting some law against animal cruelty) makes him likes them more. 'Sympathizer' seems fair.
-
no, it does not. (a) it accuses someone else of having that motivation (b) ... jokingly
-
joking in the same sense that a dude hitting on someone at a party retroactively decides they're joking after being rebuffed, maybe.
-
I envy you your telepathy, where you can always tell what my motivations are. You know that I'm red tribe, seeing through my actual words. You know that I'm a Nazi. etc. It's truly amazing.
-
Apologies for not respecting how you choose to self-identify, but given the context (tweets approving of actions taken by nazis as a precursor to genocide) I'm not inclined to interpret your statements with the maximum amount of charity.
-
You're welcome to use any heuristic you want, but when you chose heuristics that lead you to incorrect conclusions, it makes me think that you're engaging in a strategy of "being wrong to own the (maybe ?) red tribe people". If you don't value being correct, go for it.
-
sorry, but I just don't find your deniability plausible. You haven't pointed out an out-and-out incorrect statement I've made, just ones that don't treat you with as much charity as you feel you deserve.

Godwin's Law strikes again

terrible how citing acts by nazis that one approves of results in comparisons to same
-
collapse of context is a slip down the slope. you're slipping.
-
trying to find the most charitable possible interpretation of someone's statements isn't always a virtue
-
deliberate strawmanning and willful misinterpretation is an even bigger slip
-
terrible how we can't joke about liking actions that were the immediate precursor to genocide anymore
