why are you screencap thread tweeting instead of just replying
-
-
-
because it's a convenient way to show multiple tweets, and if someone is going to insist on quote-tweeting a bunch of my stuff I see no reason not to respond in kind
-
haven't you, like, followed each other for years
-
nah, I unfollowed him.. can't actually remember what it was, but probably something similar to this recent tweet celebrating an immediate precursor to the Third Reich genociding anyone pink-triangle-worthyhttps://twitter.com/MorlockP/status/1054733083738628096 …

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, assume they're sincere when they state they're really only against abuses of CoC's and not the fundamental concept of treating trans people as human, etc. Depressing how often this turns out to be a smokescreen.
-
why not block me then? codes of conduct exist to structure communication with preferential authority — projects without them will live longer, are more resilient ecologically, as everything that does not rely on purity, but dynamism tends to be
-
as far “as human” goes i suspect you mean more that your words alone say, which of course they are — but what is the implication? what values are you actually trying to enforce?
-
or sorry, i meant unfollow — but obviously i say all that rhetorically, i believe you wont

-
there's a lot of good scifi that could fall under that umbrella, but that stuff normally wins non-niche awards
-
Yeah, good SF (or writing in general) is orthogonal to its political orthodoxies, despite the 'all art is political' crowd.
-

"looking to reach a wider grey/blue audience" do you mean to say he's being less tribal than he could be? It's pretty hard to parse these dissonant premises you've decided to wrestle with -
I mean that when one is an extremist of some sort - a fascist, for example - portraying oneself as more of a centrist is a tactic that can help in reaching a larger audience. Remember Milo's whole 'classical liberal' shtick?

fMRI "lie detection"/"allegiance" tests are bullshit though...
