    My ideal paper has no story at all: it's data plus metadata plus a code set for analysis and plotting. Maybe there can be a citation list with quick summaries of the cited papers. I'm with you Abby! ( and this may be why you are much better scientists than me ;)).

    Also a general gripe about the definition of agent-based modeling: is this just a catch-all term for any model with discrete time steps? So Markov chains, automata, any equation system solved by Euler's, etc are just members of this class of models?
