    The underinvestment in bike infra. is rampant in South East San Francisco. Trying to get from 22nd Street Caltrain back home on Alemany and Sickles was terrifying. How do we expect mode shift to happen when we are asking people to put their lives on the line?

    It’s probably also difficult for technical reasons having to do with maintaining a global, distributed and indexed internet microblog but Twitter employs plenty of nerds that would love to figure that out

    Maybe you could moderate it or only allowing small “typo” changes but imagine the complications of doing that to an Internet forum across many languages in a way that someone wouldn’t figure how to abuse

    Maybe if tweets were editable only for a short time before anyone interacted with it would work but that’s almost the functional equivalent of deleting and reposting

    Editable tweets would not be a good feature. Imagine if your favorite account could add affiliate links to the hilarious meme you shared 3 days ago. Or if tronald dump could edit something after 1M retweets

    there needs to be a term for these sorts of structures in factorio which clearly were there because they were needed long ago but the factory has been rebuilt since then, so they no longer do. and as a programmer I see these in software ALL THE TIME

    If fully vaccinated US citizens allow to mingle with unvaccinated people - who may be infected or infectious in areas with significant circulation of - wouldn’t this create a fertile ground for the emergence of “vaccine-escape” variants?
