    Learning about the Krebs cycle by seeing the enzymes involved just makes it so much more interesting for students. Not to mention a sense of scale from the cell zoom in!

    Excited to share a chapter of my PhD work that came online today and a blog post describing the work for a broad audience! We sequenced 23 single-cell genomes from the Saccharibacteria (TM7) phylum and cultured three new species with distinct hosts.

    Honestly it’s insane that NIH doesn’t yet support paid parental leave for postdocs - no wonder so many women I know feel torn about doing a postdoc!

    Preprint. I had sworn never to work on cell fate, but this finding by was too weird to ignore. hot fire emoji. she shows that different cell lineages can get to the same cell type by following different paths.
