They should have given her a ticket but I guess if she doesn’t show them her ID they can’t do that. Maybe they should’ve called for back up? Violent force should never be used for a non violent misdemeanor But what could they have done to not use force get her to surrender?

She wouldn’t show I.D. and then resisted arrest.
A police officer is representation of authority & law. Complying with an officer is the easiest way to avoid issues.

Good job police brutalizing a young woman... over what? A $3 fare? $5??? Public transit should be free and we should be encouraging folks to ride it as a way to combat crisis-level climate change... NOT criminalizing them... and yes, EVEN IF SHE DIDN'T PAY (*if*)
