Played every day from 11/11/11 to 11/11/14 other than two weekends. It became a personal therapy especially while I was doing some very dark things at such a young age.
Some days I would just turn the game on and turn it off immediately. But I always booted up a character. I'd bring it to my two close friends houses when I spent the night and even had a massive amount of hours on Russell's slim model 360.
Also, it makes sense that I used it to dull my shock and trauma and stress because Oblivion was a massive influence on me as a person. I remember the first time my cousin booted up Oblivion when we were on vacation in Edisto like it was yesterday. I asked him what it was...
...and he got this grin cause I guess he knew I loved fantasy but failed at playing Diablo, and he was like "You haven't seen Elder Scrolls before? You're bout to love this shit." And boy was he right. I watched him beat the whole game and close most of the portals that vacation.
It was absolutely magical to me and the day I got home I begged my mom to get me a copy. I played the shit outta that game and was so hyped when TESV was announced. The only other midnight release I've been to was Halo 3.
When my dad used to come into my room and I was playing Oblivion or Skyrim he would ALWAYS impersonate this Mike Tyson interview. He was a funny morherfucker.https://youtu.be/6tLrIkPK8kg
