New: I spoke with Zack Tahhan & Francisco Puebla, the men who helped police apprehend the alleged subway shooter, about their immigration stories and lives in the U.S. From Mexico and Syria, they've made NYC & New Jersey home.

Youtube algorithm fed me this interview with writer Ocean Vuong--I have to say that I wish more late-night show hosts would bring on authors. It's clear Seth appreciates books re: how he asks questions+ We get to hear Ocean's powerful voice.

"Jonathan Bailey has been thinking a lot about Tupperware. Not necessarily around its ability to hold food...but more how he has also been squishing different elements of his life into what feel like small, slightly misshapen boxes." 🙌🏻✨

The intro paragraph to this Jonathan Bailey profile piece by is wonderful: mysterious, yet also accessible in a unique way that a Tupperware metaphor can be.

USERS!!! Need some help: I own an XR and it has 64GB of storage. In the last week, my “other” storage has racked up to 20GB. I don’t know where to delete the cache and also why this problem persists. My phone shuts down/malfunctions when full…🥲 what do I do?

Somehow fix the way the American healthcare payment + insurance system works... so that I stop having this innate fear of my body breaking down, seeing a doctor to get something checked, and then going broke because of it. Imagine the opportunities.

And this is why I love watching NCAA gymnastics! It reflects society's changing attitudes about mental health, the female body, and having fun🎉 I'm so glad that Suni decided to go to Auburn. Her radiance also spotlights the other women we don't hear about on lesser-known teams.

Wanted to give a huge shout-out to this absolutely stunning written/visual piece by and on the webcam industry in Colombia! "Though monitors don’t appear on camera, their fingerprints are all over the performances they manage."

My lil cousin when she was 9 once said “Maitreyi akka, you know what I hate? When people treat me like I’m dumb”. This is why she’s one of my faves. Don’t treat us like we’re dumb thx☺️

Not much has been written in English about the SoundOn creator experience–so quite a discovery! Main factors that grow SoundOn's appeal in emerging markets: -hiring representatives who care -"boosting" artists' visibility via the FYP & editorials -Free99! But high royalties💰🎶

In March 2022: ByteDance unveiled SoundOn, an "all-in-one platform for music creators", where artists will receive 100% royalties from TikTok, Resso, and CapCut. "If all goes well, your track might even become a viral trend on TikTok and beyond!"

I don’t want to write about trauma. I want to write about joy! But not the performative kind of joy for audiences that’s palatable. And I wanna be paid for it.

For years I’ve been recording interviews and writing about the generational memory of Partition; how we speak about historical trauma, or why we may feel an ancestor’s pain. My new book, In The Language of Remembering, is available for pre-order now and in shops on May 10, 2022

This podcast series is a shameless rip-off of my story from last April. No credit is given and the creator did zero original reporting. He even mispronounces the main character's name through all 8 episodes. (It's "kuh-SEE," not "KEY-see.") 🧵

I just realized my non-US friends probably don't know how US insurance works. So lets say your employer offers insurance. They pay a portion and then you pay a portion. For a family, the employee pays on average about $400 per pay cycle, or $10,400 per year.

Working in corporate marketing meant finding out all the cute internet awards nominations are just a bunch of people/agencies who paid $500 per entry, not a lil group of internet obsessed humans looking for the best of the best 🥲
