Financ'l cos are happy to look after RICH Americns, becuz the FATCA costs are a smaller % of their profit. The probs arise when, as in this case, a co is tryng to give consumers an inexpnsve product, ie roboadvice or online only banking. Not fair 4 other clients to subsidze Amcns

B4 everyone rushes to blame Goldman – and Boursorama & other FFIs that seek to offer low-cost financ’l prods – impt 2 remember: their prob is that FATCA makes Amer clients v expensive 2 have. This means raising prices for their non-American clients, who thus subsidize the Am’cns.
