Not to mention that a normal work visa would easily cost you £1700-£2000 for five years including NHS surcharges. Multiply that by the number of family members joining :)

Cost $6000+ (ignoring the lawyer's fees) for my US work visa in fees (H1B), and currently at $3500 working on my green card. UK takes the cake for sure in fees, but i feel they have more reasonable grace periods and the lack of nationality quota is better. Both are dehumanizing.

The spouse immigrant visa application in Australia costs around 5000 USD... We have it good in the US imo.
