I just saw a fantastic talk by Balaji Prabhakar from on Huygens and fear I might be out of a job soon. I'd definitely recommend checking out their paper from NSDI 2018:

Amar Phanishayee and I have gotten the HotCloud 2020 Preliminary CFP together. Like HotStorage, we'll be double-blind. So, go nuts with weird ideas; no shame. We're looking to make it a fun and constructive place to pilot controversial stuff.

Day 3: Consensus. Even though there are way too many different papers on consensus, I often recommend 's "Distributed consensus revised" as a starting point. This is like an entire book on consensus.

I cannot help but appreciate this papers’ approach to message naming. It puts my usual naming scheme (1c, 2b etc) to shame.
