Now this is a laugh, Pelosi the constitutional textualist. Pelosi is only using the constitution to keep the show going. She isn't concerned with fair proceedings for Trump, or the Constitution. A document that protects citizens from the government. Inversion is forever in DC.

1/2 Wasn't "originalism" conservatives attempt to interpret Framers' words by divining their original intention? Such a method is spooky and deeply suspicious because it insists that other precedent & evolving circumstance are disregarded.

2/2 Here, Pelosi isn't required to disregard precedent & our circumstances are similar enough to Framers to just apply their meaning. In other words, I'm not sure why we'd call this "originalism." She's merely applying old words that we understand clearly.
