Congratulations to Lubbock for becoming a Music Friendly City during this Recent Unpleasantness. Today I read 64% of musicians are thinking of leaving the music business: y’all consider moving to Lubbock before you give up the good fight. It’s a creative crucible.

I just stopped by my favorite hat shop to order a new lid. I’m proud to wear hats from Flint Boot and Hat Shop and I’m proud to have them as a sponsor of Cowboy Crossroads. Located in good ol’ Lubbock, Texas. Stop by and tell ‘em I sent you!

Had a great time sharing the stage with Micheal Martin Murphy and Andy Hedges. A beautiful setting up above Red River & a fabulous audience! At a little over 10,000ft elev. the thin air up there will sure test a singer out but the 48 degrees felt mighty good. Many Thanks Murph!

I chose to release this original song both digitally and on a wax cylinder as a way to present the older technology and juxtaposed it to the modern streaming standards of recorded music.

My last four album covers were created by Dirk Fowler. When we first started discussing the Cowboy Songster cover, I asked Dirk to do something in the tradition of the great old album covers by people like Cisco Houston, Ed McCurdy, and Hermes Nye. I think he nailed it.
