Too late now for a cohort of young girls that has now missed the timeslot for vaccination due to misinformation. A percentage of the girls will get cervical carcinoma.

Not necessarily. Young adults can be vaccinated up to age 26. The paper's only been out for a couple of years. Girls who are preteens or teenagers now haven't missed the window.

This is very weird. You retract a paper for malfeasance — made up data, ethical violations, etc. Here, the study was accurately reported, but the journal is now saying, “Um, we shouldn’t have accepted it.” That’s pathetic on the part of the editors. (And I’m 100% pro-vaccine.)
