Like many people in Toronto, my boss has just learned about incels, and in explaining the "movement" to her I am just reliving the worst moments of my last three years and getting blindingly angry.

The nicest people can have the most toxic opinions. And those opinions might never matter until one day when a few too many things have just gone sideways, and suddenly a bit of poison is a full-blown plague.

I'm still mad at myself for not seeing it sooner. Not curing it, I guess, when it wasn't everything. And for continuing to be blindsided every single time the same poison comes up again.

last night i found out that someone i love has a friend who they are trying to distance themself from because of various things, including some incel sympathizing. i find it so hard to believe i am only one degree separated from someone like that, mush less no degree!
