@hbdchick lactase persistence SNP rs4988235 (T;T)? got it! (^_^) http://mathii.github.io/review/2015/06/14/lactase-persistence-and-ancient-dna/ …#GotMilk? -
@hbdchick ok so my http://Ancestry.com dna file shows A;G at that snp - is the rs id not consistent between providers?? -
@yourlyingeyes yeah, that's right - the different providers have chosen to designate the nucleobases in different ways. (>.<) ... -
@yourlyingeyes ... it's very confusing, and i don't know who uses which system. i've only used 23andMe, myself. depends on which ... -
@yourlyingeyes ...direction they "read" your dna strands. so, the bases can either be read as: A or T (same thing), or C or G (same thing). -
@yourlyingeyes ...so it sounds like maybe you're partially lactose tolerant - you've got one A (or one T) on that snp, whereas i have two. -
@hbdchick ok I think I see...but damnit, now I'm going to read up on it...hate when that happens -
@yourlyingeyes it's confusing. and annoying. (>.<)
