@robvfour debatable. (~_^) -
@hbdchick I don't think contributing to or valuing the commonweal is a particularly rational thing, certainly a good one though. -
@robvfour agreed. it's prolly not a particularly rational/conscious thing. but does that mean it would be awful if human were more rationl? -
@hbdchick I think so, I usually try to be rational and I like to think i'm good at knowing when i'm not but the gap between the ideal and -
@hbdchick reality is what makes me who I am I guess. Rational actors would be predictable and so much of life isn't.

@hbdchick Yup. Why do people keep thinking religion/morality is exogenous to people? They are quite *endogenous*. -
@JayMan471 people cant seem to grasp *coughjareddiamond* that Environment + time = GENES, + time = culture -

@hbdchick I used to think that even if most people weren't rational most of the time, at least we could all agree that rationality is good. -
@hbdchick --that rationality is something to strive for. Unfortunately it seems that even an agreement on that isn't possible

@hbdchick True most humans don't directly fight over resources, but maybe religion was a unconscious proxy to aid in group selection?Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
