There were times when I struggled with my faith, until I realized that whatever I choose-Catholicism, Buddhism, atheism-will require faith.

@hbdchick@AliceTeller Oh but it does. Faith that your absence of a decision is correct. Making no decision is a decision -
@hambisela@AliceTeller i don't believe or think that my absence of a decision is correct. point is, i don't know. *can't* know. (^_^) -
@hbdchick@AliceTeller You make a decision, based on your view of the available information, that you cannot make a decision. That's a decision -
@hambisela@AliceTeller yes. but i don't have faith that it is the correct decision. (~_^) i could very well be wrong!

@hbdchick@hambisela Agreed but the belief that statistics tell us something important about humanity does ;-) -
@AliceTeller (^_^) i disagree. if you can make *accurate* predictions using stats, "belief" no longer involved. you've hit upon truth then. -
@hbdchick Doesn't that the depend on the quality of the data you use to predict with? Sooner or later you display faith in something. -
@AliceTeller if you have lousy data and know it, you shouldn't trust your results. -
@hbdchick Do you personally evaluate every data set for all the criteria? -
@AliceTeller on the topics i'm specifically interested in, yes. i take as close a look as possible at the data. not for everything, tho, no.
