    yup. next to no matrilineal societies in agricultural populations. the minute someone has to plow, you get a patrilineal system, or so it seems. same w/cattle herding (see above tweet). also, little to no matrilineal systems in H-Gs. some nw pacific pops are matrilineal, but...

    From NYT "every building" map. Nothing denser than core NYC, but its greater metro area thins out pretty quickly compared to LA, which stays pretty dense even out to its most distant exurbs (even Palm Springs!)

    If kin selection, would require that homosexual men caused the survival four extra nieces/nephews ( because only half as related as own kids). More effective than mothers? Impossible. does this happen? no.
