    As another constituent of I too am proud of and grateful for the truly extraordinary job he did. In the end he won, the McConnells, Grahams, Cruzs and Hawleys will only be remembered for the damage they inflicted on their country.

    As a constituent I am so proud of and he is correct here. He made the best, most powerful case possible. But McConnell and Senate Republicans are unreachable by ethical, rational or emotional appeals. The GOP is Trump’s party and they are just loyal acolytes.

    An important move, not least because Erdogan recently blamed Kavala's wife for being the hand behind protests at Istanbul's Bogazici University.

    We call on Turkey to immediately release Osman Kavala from detention and ensure a just, transparent, and speedy resolution to his case. Specious charges, continued detention, & delays in his trial do further harm to the rule of law and democracy in Turkey.
