On a more serious note, I’m less concerned about funding basic research here and more concerned by folks who argue that our current level of climate impacts justifies SRM deployment.

At the poles? I think we're 5 years from needing to based on them taking the brunt of warming and the tipping points this exposed. Writing this as I enjoy our June weather on the west coast of CA..
