25. Used to be an account for public transport discussion. But 2016 unleashed racism and xenophobia that have made me unwelcome in the country I was born in 😡

Cheering myself up today looking at the photos of Miss Chelmza beauty pageant when I was only 17 and became 2nd Runner up, even though nr 1 on stage. Oh, it feels like it was in a previous lifetime. Do you sometimes go through old pictures and feel you've lived for a long time?

The top three Battle of Britain pilots were Polish . I tell children I teach this. I tell them many Indians and Pakistani and West Indians and Africans as well as service men from Canada Australia and new Zealand died defending this country. Any child I teach knows the debt owed

I exerienced depression twice in my life. Second time, I reached out for help when I liked the look of the kitchen knife. Stress, job loss, poverty, heartbreak, loneliness causing muscle pains in my whole body turned out to be caused by depression. But I cured it. You can too❤️

We seem to be falling down a cliff towards full on racism not just of colour but of language as well. Where is this shambles of a government calling for a stop to it

Oh next time I see you in the street I make sure I tell you about your xenophobia in your face in perfect Polish. None of your business what languages I can speak if you are too lazy to learn them yourself. It is a problem with your brain rather than immigration of hard workers!!

It is going around in circles trying them to admit they are xenophobic. If you ask someone directly they unlikely say yes. If you ask these questions then they are more likely to admit. Though some people will never admit but show it in behaviour towards foreigners

What is driving this hatred of people speaking another language? Inferiority, superiority, arrogance, or just pure old fashioned racism and xenophobia?!? Whatever it is we need to challenge the haters and not allow this become an acceptable behaviour

Yep, saw that, is truly shocking, like we have gone back 50 yrs! It is Xenophobic, in no other European country have I ever experienced any hostility for speaking a different language, only here. I have been shouted at before for listening to Polish music in my car!!

Did you see the survey in previous tweet? 41 per cent of leavers are bothered to hear others talk to each other in a different language. It is a gentle way of saying they hate us. Simple

What the hell is wrong with these people, why does it bother them so much? What if like many people (like me) your British but have a partner or family born in another country, is it ok then to talk to your family in another language? This is so ridiculous it’s unbelievable

During his speech at the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, Marian Turski said the Holocaust did not “fall from the sky” all at once but took hold step by step as society’s acceptance of small acts of discrimination eventually led to ghettos and extermination camps.

I am afraid it has always been here. Just before brexit they didn't have the courage to say it. Now they talk openly, as if they were creating a new world order

Chris: “I don’t mind Johnny Foreigner coming here as long as there are not too many of them and they don’t stay here for too long.” Sadly Brexit has either stirred this up or shone a light on what was there.

4 days after Chris openly admits if I am a tourist I CAN speak Polish to my mama in the street but since I've worked almost 15 years for him and his country it bothers him. How am I supposed to feel like at home now when millions of Chrises want me to leave or shut up!??
