    The whole system is set up to benefit corporate accounts over small youtubers because they can declare whatever they want as a violation and the only thing we can do is beg for them to change their mind or risk losing our channel. Because that's fair...

    It's so unfair to have a standard of fair use with 20 second clips being fine for over 3 years and then out of the blue to bombard a content creator with literally 100s of claims . Fair use can be whatever they want it to be whenever they chose to enforce it

    Sad truth about the YouTube problem is big YouTubers aren’t affected so they won’t fight cuz they’re fine. They’re making ad revenue, advertisers are happy, YouTube makes money so they leave em be. They’re not getting demonetized or copyright claims so they’re complacent.

    Please look into this situation. This is like the (where's the fair use) issue that affected channels 2 years ago, but now it is specifically hitting Anime/Manga/Geek channels that are already marginalized in as not being mainstream enough.

    It's honestly sad what Channel Awesome is becoming. The Nostalgia Critic was one of my biggest inspirations why I want to persue on YouTube. His was the final straw I want to make content. It's sad to see this end off with a bitter note. :/

    Straight from the horse's mouth. YouTube only cares about Fair Use in some select cases. Everyone else has to fend for themselves against false claims. Guess that settles the debate. YouTube is a copyright claim-free for all.

    If the bodycam footage came from public/government police on duty, then it very likely is in the public domain. If the video is "owned by the public", no infringement is possible.

    Well I guess A&E thinks that they can claim body camera footage now. That's public domain my guys.
