    I went to a computational science seminar today. I looked around and I realized I was the only woman in the room. Two more women (PIs) joined last minute. Total number of seminar attendees = 28. I just felt I needed to share this.

    Have also been told this by colleagues & faculty. Can we stop telling that there is something wrong with their voices? Masculinizing a voice to be 'taken seriously' says that it is not ok to be feminine in science. IT IS.

    Excited to introduce our new program for high school students, F.E.M.M.E.S. Advance, founded by ! Our pilot Capstone featured a talk by neuroscientist, Dr. Jen Cummings, STEM + leadership activities, and a college applications panel.

    Two mentors cautioned that it may be too early for TT, so I almost didn’t apply. Two other mentors said yes apply, have confidence! I got the job. Support your mentees, there is nothing to lose and everything to gain.
