    Tonight I saw a family with young children having a bbq on the past a no bbq sign. Taken off by firemen. I challenged after 5 young lads taking 4 disposable bbqs towards moors and made them turn back. Please, no repeat of last summer

  16. Lancashire Police have now also issued a warning to the public to stay away from Winter Hill as the moorland fires continue to burn. One man had to be rescued after ignoring the advice and collapsing near the Pike Tower.
