A Tasmanian devil's life is rough. They are born beautiful, but they don't always stay that way.

Timmy is just amazing! We've been satellite tracking this young straw-necked ibis from his birth site at Kow Swamp, VIC, since Nov 2019. Over 3 days he flew the length of NSW (over 900kms north) and crossed the border into QLD on 28/1/20. That's 3 states in 3 days!

Spotted pardalotes are one of my absolute favourites. Their delicate polka dots are too adorable! Often seen high up in the canopy, we were lucky to get one in the nets.

We received 50 mm of rain at the reserve over the weekend! That’s more
#rain than we got in the whole of 2019! All the clay pans and gilgais in the area are full of water. Even the#frogs have come out!

My favourite tawny frogmouth is back in the tree next to my bedroom, lulling me to sleep with its soft, deep & continuous "oom, oom, oom." Notice its weak feet that don't have curved talons - different to owls. Love their scruffy, wide-mouthed face.

It's feathered Friday! This little one is no more than two days old. He came out of a nest built entirely by his mother in 3–4 days. She built it using spiders’ webs, fine twigs and grass, then lined it with wool, feathers and animal hair.

Being awesome can be exhausting & a wombat can need a little down time. Time for a little afternoon sun nap.
