#uklibchat I'm an agency worker. Really nervous about the idea of returning to work. Some of the libraries in my home city are in very poor repair and only get the most superficial cleaning. Some without hot water. Many very demanding customers who may not want to do distancing.

Studying a LIS degree can feel very overwhelming, especially if you are not working in a GLAM environment. Does anyone have any suggestions for ways that they stayed on top of subjects they were studying (or things they wished they did!)

#uklibchat libraries are supposed to be sanctuaries - somewhere you can hang out and feel safe/warm/welcome. The only indoor public spaces where you won’t get moved on by security or asked to spend money. This will be gone and I feel nothing but despair about it 2/2

A1 Having an old student visit and say that our library was better than the one at his university because it was so welcoming and I was there to help and to provide laughs if the school day/life was particularly hard that day #uklibchat
