    Things will be interesting at ERCOT again today as the current supply/demand forecast shows a shortfall in the late afternoon/early evening. Biggest cause is 16GW of thermal outages today, an astounding 8GW in the north zone alone. Demand today is about 55GW.

    Republicans have gerrymandered me out of my district. If they think they can keep me off the House floor, they better think again. I’m grateful to everyone urging me to move back to HD50—where I grew up—to run for the seat being vacated by my friend Rep Israel. I’m in.

    TX Senate just finished a strong conservative session. But more needs to be done. Senate added felony penalties for illegal voting, but the House cut to a misdemeanor. House needs to pass an election forensic audit bill. I support calling us back to pass both.

    Ok!…Texans don’t have to register to carry a gun? But we do have to register to vote; in fact, we have to register quite carefully and at risk of criminal penalties if we make any mistakes on the paperwork, etc….(?)

    I am here to fight against the anti-trans bill HB25. It's an attack on transgender, intersex, and non-binary youth at a fragile point in life. We should fix our energy grid and fight Covid-19, instead of dealing with a made up non-issue that hurts our precious kids.

    The Texas congressional map passed yesterday is so skewed that it would fail 4 out of 4 test elections under the Freedom to Vote Act and be enjoined from use pending full litigation. (For that to happen, of course, Congress would actually need to pass FTVA.)

    I've always been proud to be 's son but never more than today. He has served his district with dignity and respect during his time in Austin. I sincerely hope that his model of statesmanship and individual thinking will be continued in the Senate moving forward

    It has been a great honor to represent the people, schools and businesses of for the past 17 years in the Texas Legislature. After thoughtful consideration and with the reassurance of my family, I have decided not to seek reelection to the Texas Senate.
