    I know the mods can't fully stop users being hateful, but it is pretty sad to see transphobic comments so often it's actually disturbing. It's basically the reason I rarely get on the app anymore.

    At least 3 cis women committed a mass shooting in 2018 and no one cares. 1 trans women committed sexual assault in a prison and we're inundated with "think pieces" asserting that trans women are dangerous. Also, fuck JK Rowling.

    Getting a cis man with no exposure to trans issues to write the foreword is in itself problematic, irrespective of whether he has been a good mentor to the author or other such reasons. His ignorance and transphobia are blatantly obvious. (1/n)

    This reminds me of the time my brother in-law was in a bar handing out leaflets & shouting slightly incoherently a summary of the policies of the BNP, & outrageously he was asked to leave- which we could only attribute to the fact that he was wearing a hat that they didn’t like.

    I’m always amazed at how people who cause harm then double down and dismiss the very people they have violated and triggered. Apparently ‘feelings are more important than actual effects. We live in an era where ‘good intentions’ trump affect.

    In the meanwhile, I'm available by email to engage with anyone who has read the book in its entirety, and trust that the person has not done so illegally. I'm a little tired of being tagged in offensive tweets and posts, so I'm going to take a social media break from this issue.
