Ok
#surgtwitter, I need some help/opinions. Working on my podium presentation for#sesc and I generally loathe PowerPoint but admire the beautiful ones many of you all make. What are your best resources for planning a conference PowerPoint?! -
Wow
@alessacolaMD Many have tried in our own way to write this, but yours is a true and beautiful expression. This feeling is not only permitted, it is required. I wouldn’t want anyone to operate on me who didn’t feel it. To us and those like us.#surgtwitter#requiredreadinghttps://twitter.com/alessacolaMD/status/1222670235016335365 … -

Question for
#surgtwitter: the OR case preceding yours (different surgeons) has an unexpected bad outcome. The patient dies. You now have to do a complex case with the same nursing and anesthesia team. What would you do? -

#medtwitter#surgtwitter I thought about posting this next Monday so it would be a little delayed, but decided against it. J/K - thanks for all you do! pic.twitter.com/0hSfsMtiQS

So this week I’m presenting the audit for my surgical team, and as part of the presentation we have to include a ‘fun fact’ about surgery. Any suggestions? This task is made extremely difficult by my lack of interest in (a) surgery and (b) fun facts.

#AASChat Ok,#surgtwitter. Us, basic scientists have to hear about this. I think one of the biggest gripes I hear from residents deciding between HSR and BTS is THIS! I bet it depends on the project...which it true for BTS as well. BIG science (HSR or BTS) takes time. -
A1. Definitely agree w/ the alignment of health services research and clinical/policy questions. Also think it's important to emphasize that HSR does not always mean a "quick" answer. Other thoughts from

Residents / fellows - treat patients like they are your own. Know their history, meds, risk. Pre-op plan and have a plan A, B, C. Develop good habits now, because you will practice as an attending how you train as a resident.

I’ve been surprised to receive a lot of conflicting advice recently re: personal statements for surg residency and am in search of more. Any general advice on writing them? Cookie cutter vs. unique story? How did you brainstorm topics? Etc.
