So I took part in this documentary about the case in solidarity with the brave victims & because Warwick, and universities in general, must be held to account for their lack of action on tackling rape culture. Change is urgently needed.

I don't know what's more horrifying about this. The nature of the discussion and the way it was casually treated as 'normal' or Warwick's pathetic response. The whole thing is deeply disturbing

You might remember that was trending early this year. It was all to do with a ‘lads chat’ where male students at the uni were threatening to rape their female friends. Now, two women targeted by the chat give new details about what happened behind closed doors

Just liking a tweet attacking leftwing politics and sharing an islamophobic article from a far-right blog site written by one of their fascist ex-students. Warwick University doesn’t just platform fascists it harbours them and their politics.

Required reading: Inside the Warwick University rape and sexual torture chat by male students scandal and how the university let its women students down so badly. Is your girl safe at Uni?

My daughter is considering her university choices at the moment. After this, will not be among them. It's not just the violent misogyny, it's the way the university has failed to properly deal with it.

The university has handled this appallingly, we cannot trust them to fight against misogyny, racism & sexual violence, students have to take action. Please join us to protest on wednesday ✊

[TW: rape threats, VAWG] God I feel sick reading this, & it doesn't even come close to exposing the worst of the chat. Warwick uni repeatedly & profoundly let down those affected, and failed to make campus safe for all students.

Thank you to everyone who protested today 💞 We can't trust a neoliberal university to fight racism, misogyny, ableism and sexual violence - we have to take action ourselves. @adeofthemoon elucidates brilliantly how our struggles in this are indivisible ✊

Abhorrent behaviour and abuse has been normalised by rape & porn culture. The WhatsApp scandal is indicative of the institutional failure to tackle rape culture. Children & young people deserve better.
