So apparently I've now attended my first political rally ever, sadly it's at the SBC Annual Meeting. Grieved at the division this will cause. Please know many in the room did not want this. I respect Pence, but the convention is not the place for politicking. #SBC18 #SBCAM18

I just watched people chew out trustee Barber in front of his son to the point he was in tears. Whether you agree with the vote or not, you don't treat people that way. #SBC18 #sbcam18

If you make political pronouncements as a denomination, such as a resolution on immigration, and have an agency that lobbies the government, guess what? You’re going to attract politicians. #SBC18 #SBCAM18

I like Mike Pence. At #SBCAM18 #SBC18 he said he was “Christian, conservative, and Republican in that order.” I wish for the occasion he would have amphasized the first, and by his own admission the most important, one of those rather than the stump speech he gave.

The greatest problem facing #SBC18 #SBCAM18 and beyond is not theological position, political opinion, nor methodological practices. The greatest problem we face is personal pride and tribal arrogance. May God continue to humble us for His glory.

Being at the actual #sbcam18 we are not as divided as we are on social media. We need to learn how to tweet without hyperbole.

We have our issues, but I am still honored to cooperate with the churches of the SBC—the most gospel-centered, mission sending, church planting, Christ sharing, God dependent, revival seeking, prayer driven convention of churches I know of! #sbc18 #sbcam18

We leave #SBCAM18 committed 2 the gospel & hopeful as ever, but also with the keen awareness that we desperately need 2 shore up our anthropology & ecclesiology. It seems we've misunderstood the imago dei & forgotten what we've historically believed as Baptists about the church.

I don’t get on Twitter very often but I have followed #SBCAM18 #SBC18 these past few weeks because #pastorskid I am proud of my dad @bellevuepastor for the way he has led the past two years. I can honestly say he has aimed to honor God first above any man or opinion of man.
