    They can negate the carbon tax by reducing vat on fuel. ring fence what the carbon tax is to do & reduce the vat. the price of fuel is rising even further cos off vat. Govt have huge revenue from the fuel hikes they could give back..

    Those new contemporary Garda uniforms remind me of GAA sports gear. Perception is important. I don't think these new uniforms have presence and won't help to command respect. I can see situations where the uniform will look inappropriately informal.
