    The rig count dropped by 4 this week leading into the holidays. Despite the drop, we are still 141 active rigs ahead of this time last year. Do you think the upward trend will continue into 2019?

    I think the real losers of an collapse will be guys that work in the field. Jobs are very price sensitive - I believe (not ‘know’) we’ll see go down if the bloodbath continues 🤷‍♂️ I know this because I was in experiencing the ‘14-‘15 crash real-time.

    years last rig counts always suspicius and must not consider much, US generally for rig claim needed to open before years end, Canada always closes massive number rigs last week of the year and opens them back in new year. Look YOY

    When bad news does not pull you further down, looks like bottom is done WTI.

    Down 30% since. Long-term oil will settle at a price where US E&Ps do not make excess cash after capex and interest. Anything above that, E&Ps will drill into the ground. That would be ~50 WTI. Expect big cuts in CAPEX for 2019 outside Permian.

    The December 2018 current active drilling rig counts are out. The Baker Hughes Rig Count shows 1071 active drilling rigs in the US as of December 14th. This is a decrease of 11 rigs from the November 16th count.
