Today rail fares are increasing by more than 3%. Let's bring our railways into public ownership so they work for the many, not the few.

Today the latest Tory rail fares increase kicks in. This time by more than 3% - meaning they've now risen by 36% since 2010. It's disgraceful. We're campaigning to bring our railways into public ownership so they work for the many, not the few.

  3. Labour care so much about trains because they're all metropolitan elites who commute to their jobs on a train, most people in Britain rarely get a train.

How was your commute this morning? Did you get a seat? Did you even get a train? Did you enjoy paying higher for a service which is getting worse and worse? We'll just leave this here...

I'm no mathematician but I'm pretty sure this isn't a 3.1% increase on the previous ticket price guys.

just had to watch saying his fares have gone up too. No sense of reality for the millions who have to travel every day for a living wage. He will claim expenses on top of his inflated salary.

One train into Leeds and one train out. Packed in like sardines. Hardly ever shows up. No heating. Trains are battered and rusty. But it’s okay, I’ll pay the 3.2% fare rise. No worries. Totally worth it. *Sarcasm*

New year, new prices 🚆 But in 2018 train punctuality was at its lowest in 13 years. 1 in 7 trains missed the industry's punctuality standard, accord to the . Do you really think that's good value for money?

how can rise when the rail network is so poor! Is it any wonder the high street is dying. Parking in my city centre (Leeds) has risen and there's no substitute (park and ride, trams)

have gone up again today 😡🚆👇 The annual rip-off price hike seems to be the only part of the privatised railway that always runs to schedule. Time our railways worked for us - not private companies.

  15. Jan 2

Our trains have failed on punctuality targets, they're overcrowded and privatisation means that shareholders are just 'stuffing their pockets'. Nothing justifies a rise of "3.1% in England and Wales". Privatised railways are a farce that are ripping off the UK public!

🚆Delays, cancellations and commuters fed up with rising 🚂 But worth remembering 1 in 10 people across GB use the railways to get to work. Vast majority of people aren't impacted by fare increases

The free market ideologues are out in force today to try and pretend railway nationisation wouldn't work. Remember the tale of East Coast rail that loses money when private and makes money when public. Again and again.

The annual rise in has become an unwelcome start to each new year as millions of us return to work after the Christmas break. After a record year for delays, cancellations and overcrowding, we don't think this rise is justified.

I wouldn’t mind the increase in if it correlated to an improvement in service. Trains haven’t gotten any better since the last price increase and it’ll soon be more cost effective to drive to work 😏
