John Humphrys yesterday: "Boris is Boris." John Humphrys today: "typically colourful language." The desperation to normalise racism is breathtaking.

This whole debate would be a lot less farcical if any of it was about concern for Muslim women. Just now on the discussion between two non-Muslim men centred on the vital question of whether burqas cause offence in the pub.

According to presenter John Humphrys, Boris Johnson used his “typically colourful language”. No John it was bigoted racist language that he used. And that’s how racism is being normalised by the BBC.

Boris is NOT a decent man. Decent men don’t paint lies on the side of buses, con 17 million people or insult those who are different to themselves.

Iain Duncan Smith whose on peddling myths and lies once claimed £39 in MPs expenses on a breakfast. The mans as untrustworthy and dishonest as they come.

  8. Bizarre anti-business rant from Ian Duncan Smith on , who says the 130,000 firms consulted by the CBI "have not even bothered" to hire British people. His form of petty nationalism will bring this country to its knees.

"Boris is Boris" says John Humphreys. Translation: "Mr Johnson is a career racist."

  10. That's it I'm done. Switching off for good. Literally cannot stand another moment of John Humphrys and the editorial decisions that normalise bigotry and racism on a daily basis. This simply cannot be described as public service broadcasting any longer. Bye

oh the hypocrisy of Nick Robinson, in defence of Boris, saying 'isn't there a danger that if we police every word, we play into the hands of extremists' When BBC have given hours of airtime forensically analysing everything that Corbyn has ever said and done.

if Sacha Baro Cohen played a r4 presenter he would be hard pushed to create a character more absurd and inappropriate than John Humphrys.

As a Muslim woman, I'm disgusted and appalled by the interview with Eric Pickles. No criticism of Boris Johnson, no mention of his vile comments being considered as islamophobic by so many and the final straw, to ask why it isn't ok to cause offence. Shameful.

So in Labour's antisemitism row they are supposed to listen to the Board of Deputies but it is Ok for the Tories to ignore the Muslim Council and rely on advice from Andrew Mitchell, Jacob Rees Mogg etc

If, John Humphrys, Boris Johnson's racism can be dismissed as "typically colourful language" how would you describe the action of the far right thugs who take to the streets from time to time in support of e.g. Tommy Robinson? Is theirs just 'typically boyish behaviour'?

Just spent five minutes longer than should ever have been necessary shouting “cut him off, there’s no reason to allow this to continue” at as Sergei Markov has spouted a series of dishonest Kremlin narratives unchecked into the ears of BBC listeners. Unreal.
