Some scientists posted a
#preprint that was flashy ("uncanny", "astonishing"), apparently not very careful, and wrong. Within hours, half a dozen experts commented that it was wrong and showed why it was wrong. This IS how it's supposed to work. -
I love
@biorxivpreprint but I am a lot worried about this#preprint, which has been widely shared and fuels conspiracy theories on#nCoV2019 and Chinese bioweapons based on flawed analyses.Prikaži ovu nit -

"C. elegans “reads” bacterial non-coding RNAs to learn pathogenic avoidance"; the title says it all, the figure gives the details! Remarkable study from

Here's another
#preprint mistake for folks. We shared this preprint on Thursday. We used various approaches to predict features of honorees and authors in the literature and identify differences. https://twitter.com/GreeneScientist/status/1222961307130920966 …Prikaži ovu nit -

Been thinking lately about how this would play out today if the paper were posted as a
#preprint first. My guess is it would have been shredded by the scientific community within days. One thing is for sure: it wouldn't have made into any journal lending it general credence. https://twitter.com/RachelAlter007/status/1223877294537744389 …

I really love
#preprint. It plays a part in accelerating discovery & scicomm. But we need to have a serious talk about how to ensure the readers know the difference between preprint upload and peer-reviewed science. https://twitter.com/JohnRInglis/status/1223598414493077505 …
