  1. Phenomenal PreK-8 Showcase at Harrison Elementary in today. These student's technical and transportable skills were fantastic! Thank you for sharing all the wonderful things you are doing for students.

  2. Third grade STEM students are testing their flying skills as they tilt their way to the perfect landing! Watch out for the door! Science of Flight

  3. Fourth grade STEM students are testing and modifying their prototype ‘egg-chutes’. These collision explorers are trying to design a safe way to land an egg from a 5 foot drop. Our Cascade crash engineers were ‘egg-cellent!’

  4. Fourth grade STEM students are following the design process at Cascade. Ask: what design will keep an egg safe during a crash? Explore, Test, and Modify prototype “egg-chutes”. Success! An uncracked egg!

  5. STEM second graders have discovered they need to assist their aunt who lives in California. “Where is California, anyway? And how do we get there?!” Students began exploring basic map skills, focusing on the map elements such as the legend, scale, and compass rose.

Today in PLTW, we explored and made observations to learn more about light!

  8. prije 6 sati

Our fourth grade STEM students conducted a science experiment to explore balanced and unbalanced forces. Then we built egg-chutes to (hopefully) safely land an egg!

  9. Second grade STEM students are beginning their studies of maps. Here Theo is re-enforcing his early map skills by exploring the basics map elements: legends, scales, and the compass rose. Way to go engineer!

  10. prije 12 sati

Second grade STEM students are supporting their early mapping skills by re-enforcing three map elements: legend, compass rose, and a scale.

Our First Graders have discovered the first first step in the design process. Ask. “We are lost in the woods. How can we use light or sound to call for help?” We got busy journaling our ideas and listening to sounds around our room!

Our first grade STEM students are exploring sound waves. After a short video showing how certain sound waves can move heavy objects, we focused on isolating a small precious sound...our own heartbeat ♥️ I love school!
