My 3rd person raycaster game on
#pico8. It's tough to tell below, but I now have ceilings with variable heights. Doom allowing non-orthogonal walls is obviously huge, but I think allowing for ceilings is also big. Windows, tunnels, doorways... all possible now. pic.twitter.com/e7UqnK8Wl5 -
The 303 only had one oscillator ... but sometimes it's nice to have a second one. I'm thinking of making it independently sequenceable for paraphonic fun.

Wanted my planets to be lit accurately and inexpensively, so I wrote an algorithm that uses the 3D positions of the star, planet, and player to create a 2D polygon to represent the dark side! I love when things just work out exactly how you picture them in your head!

Extremely stoked to have finally got tline() ceilings working and ditching my 5 year old per-pixel ceiling code. It served me well, but I can't argue with 10-15% CPU improvement! Key was gluing two raycast passes together and judicious use of clip()

Played a bit with Picolove and managed to run my first game at almost 100% fidelity. Had to fix glyph rendering, data saving, sound slowdown and add pad support and some missing
