This is my colleague Chris giving a presentation on his research. Chris is deaf and this I'm sure has come with a lot of challenges. But Chris is on his way to being the 1st deaf person to earn an Msc in Chemistry in Botswana

6 lessons from two years
#phdlife : 1)Just FINISH that shitty first draft. 2)Narrow down. 3)Ask for Feedback. 4)Go for a walk if you need a break. 5)All PhD students feel down sometimes. 6)Podcasts help when you can't sleep.#phdtalk#nomagic#mistakesihavemade -

Ask your Director of Studies & supervisors permission 2 record your supervision sessions at key points. Helps when writing up, remembering key decisions or reminding you of refinements to coding, interviewing, analysis

WHAT!? I always emphasize exactly the opposite point of view. Grad students in your cohort and your research group are your bigger allies
#PhDTalk Many of them will be lifelong friends and collaborators. https://twitter.com/akiltykramer/status/1164236275580227585 …
