It took me a solid hour of pointless flapping before I could make myself hit the ‘submit thesis’ button. But I did. I submitted my PhD thesis. I feel a bit sick with relief. And terror. And something I can only describe as ‘anxious buoyancy’

When you start a you are learning how to do research. You don't know how to do it so ask questions. Lots of questions. If you already knew how to do a PhD there wouldn't be any point in doing it. You are doing it to learn.

  19. Just pleased as punch that I seem to have nailed down a dissertation defense date and also my first interview for a job after PhD, though not one of the MANY faculty positions. Hadn't planned for alt-ac but very excited about both developments.
