    Thanks to all the volunteers today who helped with sandbagging in Ottawa West-Nepean. The water continues to rise. If you’d like to help, please register at the command post in the parking lot in Britannia Park 9am-7pm. Buses will take you where you are most needed.

    A peaceful looking scene, but the flooding Ottawa River is roaring through the old ruins at the Deschênes Rapids this evening. In the early 1800's there was a sawmill, forge and fulling mill here, now the foundations are all that is left. Ottawa behind.

    City of Ottawa officials say they are preparing to call for voluntary evacuations of homes at risk of flooding, particularly in Constance Bay in the west end, as Ottawa River levels are rising "much faster than expected."
