What Ontarians should worry about is not that teachers go on strike to protect class sizes, but that they'll give in. That they'll say, "Go ahead, put 40-50-60 kids in my class & cut all the support services - we'll still get paid."

Ford gets caught up in Trump-style stupidity, telling spontaneous and easily disproven lies. Claims he's receiving supportive texts from teachers, to a personal cell he's kept secret, and which he declines to share for no particular reason.

  3. Well, that didn't take much digging. With the stock photo from Poland, the fake logo from Indonesia, and the talking points from the Premier's Office, the only question is where the money came from to pay for all of these full page ads.

  9. Premier you might be losing your patience with the education strikes but Ontarians have long lost their patience with you. Education workers are striking because of your harmful cuts and changes to education. Get it together.

The Minister of Education made a choice this week. Instead of visiting a public school.... he went to a private, for profit facility. 👇👇👇👇 Every ✂️ Ford & Lecce make, is 💵💵💵 in the pockets of companies that rely on gaps in public education.

Imagine what the system could accomplish if we had a MoE who knew anything about education running ... But a qualified person is too much to ask for, apparently.

To everyone who works in publicly funded edu system, thank you for everything that you do. We have a world class edu system because of a very high quality edu profession in Ontario. You serve & support our students to succeed. Thank you.

So doesn’t know an EA from a DECE, and now can’t keep OSSTF and ETFO strike actions straight? Parents are fed up with the incompetence of this government, not with the educators and support staff who are striking for our kids!

Guess what? My son’s OSSTF teacher is still coaching basketball after school. My son’s OSSTF music teacher is still running evening band practice. Lecce is lying. That being said, if they have to pull back on extracurriculars, I WILL STILL SUPPORT THEM.

  15. NDP MPP ⁦⁩ says “illegal” Vaughan Working Families ads violate election act because two byelections are underway in Ottawa. “All the hallmarks of a Doug Ford smear campaign.” Premier’s office denies any connection to the ads.

Something fishy is happening in your riding Mr. Education Minister . Who is this “Vaughan Working Families” that are nowhere to be found online yet can afford to purchase a full page colour ad in not 1 but 2 major newspapers.

  18. Our friends at OFPE have received a tip that seems to confirm the status of the class size issue. Boards are starting their course/staffing process now for 2021-22. They still have to get to 28:1 by ‘23. is holding 25:1 as leverage to get unions to remove caps.

Grandson's classmate just called & my daughter asked him "Are you excited about no school tomorrow?" He said "Kind of. But it's not fair what they're doing to the teachers & it's not fair about the cuts to autism & I know J & his brothers have autism." A 9 yr old gets it.

“...a Premier who promised not to eliminate a single public-sector job but was happy to strike 10,000 teaching positions through expanded classes is capable of just about anything ...”
