I am not an Ontarian, or a teacher, or an education assistant, but I have a perspective on the Ford government’s “Keeping Students in Schools Act”. I was Minister of Education in Alberta for 7 years, including the time the Charter was developed and enacted. #onted #onpoli

So let me get this straight - Ontario's lowest paid education workers, making $39k, are greedy for asking for another $3.25 an hour to keep up with the cost of living, but Ontario's highest paid MPPs, who just got a $16k raise - from taxpayers - are paid fairly? 🤔#OntEd #onpoli

A 13 year old student was asked to change their shirt today for Queen’s Park Question Period. because it was purple. Seriously. The government that works for workers & cares about kids is monitoring children’s clothing choices. This is your Ontario #OntEd #OnPoli

Stop it, please, #onpoli media. Parents aren't "caught in the middle" between education workers & the government. We're not frustrated at the strike. We're angry at the government for forcing education workers to strike by denying them decent wages & working conditions. (1/?)

I won’t withdraw my comments just because they make the government uncomfortable. The use of the notwithstanding clause is an act of cowardice in a fight the government knew they wouldn’t win. Let’s support our kids by supporting educational support staff. #Bill28 #onpoli

Premier Doug Ford in Question Period, says he won't tolerate students being out of the classroom for even one day. It was the Ford government that shut down schools for more than 20 weeks during the pandemic (sometimes after promising to keep them open) #onpoli

Shout out to the ~60% of Ontarians that didn’t bother voting in the last election. Reminder: you’ve forfeited your right to complain about the current state of our health care or education systems. Sincerely, The 40% of us that give a damn #onted #onpoli #cupestrike #onhealth

We’re still in the legislature 13.5 hours after starting at 5am today. To all the education workers protesting outside Queen’s Park - we can hear you in the chamber. Keep it up!!! 💪🏼 #onpoli #onted

Two men making a combined $375k/yr, are attempting to crush 55,000 education workers of Ontario, who are 71-75% women, making an average of $39k/yr. Let that sink in. Lecce & Ford are not on the side of our schools, or our kids & families. They’re cutting school funding, too!
