When the media misrepresents rape cases, rapists or sexual assault survivors, everyone loses. It prejudices juries, and makes it harder for survivors to seek justice. We're calling for now.

This relates the rise in unwanted violence during sex to the consumption of porn. It should also consider how readily the media accept that people die after a ‘sex game went wrong’ Nobody can consent to this

Rape myths make it harder for survivors to talk about what has happened, because they are more likely to encounter prejudice and false beliefs. Time's up!

Unlike we don't think it's okay to label the man who chose to sexually assault a teenager on his wedding day as a 'Groping Groom' Also, it's great to know that 'his life can go on.' Stupid humour and totally the wrong angle

  9. When reporting on sexual exploitation issues, make use of case study information and statistical evidence to highlight the harms and violence inherent in the sex industry

  10. There is no typical rapist. Rapists are people who have chosen to commit a terrible crime - they are somebody's son, partner, father, friend. There are no excuses for rape.

  11. Whilst headlines are designed to be attention-seeking, they need to be carefully considered. It is not okay to say: 'Man who had sex with 12 year old, found guilty' as this implies consent on the child's part. It is statutory rape and should be named as such

are currently challenging a newspaper report by which described the man as having sex with an 11 year old girl in the headline. They have updated it (slightly) but are still referring to it as ‘sex’ in the main text.
